INTERREG PROJECTS
The 1st of 2019 is the date when State Border Guard Service under the Ministry of the Interior of Republic of Lithuania started to implement the Project „Cooperation of Lithuanian and Polich border guard services“. The Project No LT-PL-3R-199 is co-financed by (Interreg V-A) Lithuania-Poland cooperation Programme. Te Project will be implemented in cooperation with the Partner Podlaski Border Guard Regional Unito f Maj. Gen. Henryk Minkiewicz.
As Lithuania and Poland became part of the Schengen area, the abolition of controls at internal borders was completed and the threat of trans-national crime increased. Border Guard Services (hereinafter Service) must change the activity nature, cooperate, apply the same practice of tactical actions to ensure general safety. To achieve this, partners require specific institutional skills. Cooperation of services and joint activities have to be clear and extensively discussed by specialists in order to implement trans-national LT and PL agreements in the areas of illegal migration, illegal transportation of goods and persons as well as ensurance of safety.
The aim is to strengthen the institutional abilities and cooperation of LT and PL Service in order to decrease trans-national crime rate in LT and PL border regions.
The objectives are: to increase the institutional abilities of LT and PL Service in order to implement joint activities; to strengthen the cooperation of LT and PL Service in order to ensure the safety of border regions. Project target group includes the specialists of LT and PL Service.
Results are: the preparation and implementation of 1 training programme regarding the improvement of tactical abilities; the number of participants is 184; the purchase of specialized equipment; the formation of one international working group; the preparation of 1 set of Guidelines for the implementation of joint activities; the organisation of 1 international conference.
The project will be implemented in 18 month.
The budget of the Project is 926 068,02 Eur.

Gen. Henryk Minkiewicz have been started to implement the Project „Development of cooperation of Lithuanian and Polish border guard services“. The Project No LT-PL-5R-400 is co-financed by (Interreg V-A) Lithuania-Poland cooperation Programme. The Project is in line with the Project “Cooperation of Lithuanian and Polish border guard services“, which has been started to implement in 2019.
Despite the continuing relevance of the increased risk of cross-border crime in the Lithuanian-Polish border region, which is not managed yet, the current situation regarding the spread of COVID19 in the world has highlighted the need for Border Guards Services to be ready to manage and control emergency situations in the border region. The Border Guard Services must work together, apply the same tactical action practices to achieve a common security objective, both under normal conditions and in emergency situations, to have the necessary coordination of such actions and clear cross-border agreements for crisis situations.
The aim of the project is to reinforce the capacities of LT and PL Border Guard Service jointly to respond to emergency situations in cross-border area.
The objectives are: to increase the institutional abilities of LT and PL Service directed to manage emergency situations in cross-border regions.
Main results are: provided training regarding management of joint operations directed to manage crisis situations in Lithuanian-Polish border region (128 participants); purchased of specialized equipment; prepared Memorandum of Understanding for joint management of emergency situations in LT-PL cross border region; organized of 1 international conference.
The project will be implemented in 18 months.
The budget of the Project is 991733,78 Eur.
