BOMCA 10: Study visit to Lithuania

On the 25th of June 2024, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a study visit in Lithuania for the representatives of the Border Service of State Committee on National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic and the representatives of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia.

The representatives were briefed on integrated border manage0ment, given an overview of the border control and risk analysis system and threats, as well as familiarised with the activities of the National Coordination Centre.

During the study visit, the participants were introduced to the activities of the Padvarioniu Frontier Station of the Vilnius Frontier District and the Foreigners‘ Registration Centre.

The Border Management Programme in Central Asia is funded by the European Union.

It is implemented by a consortium of EU Member State border management authorities as well as the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), and coordinated by the Latvian Border Guard Service.

The overall objective of the project is to enhance security, stability and sustainable growth in the region, while supporting cross-border cooperation and improving the conditions of people living in the border areas of Central Asia.
