BOMCA 10 Final Conference Highlights Achievements in Border Management and Regional Cooperation
Bishkek, 5 September 2025 – The EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held its final conference in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, bringing together representatives from all five Central Asian countries, the European Union, and partner organizations to review key results and lessons learned from the Programme’s tenth phase.
Launched in April 2021, BOMCA 10 focused on four priority areas: strengthening institutional development of border control agencies, improving detection capacities for cross-border crimes, facilitating legitimate trade flows across borders, and enhancing cross-border cooperation to improve living conditions in border regions.
Lithuanian State Border Guard Service led the implementation of activities aimed at strengthening detection capacities for cross-border crimes. These activities significantly enhanced regional capacities to detect and combat cross-border crime.
The conference concluded with discussions on future directions, ensuring the sustainability of results, and further reinforcing EU–Central Asia cooperation in border management.
